1. Scope
Because of strong efforts of the community members, significant progress in understanding of three-dimensional structures in magnetized plasmas has been made through advanced measurements and control techniques. We have utilized not only large-size tokamak such as DIII-D, but also stellarators such as LHD and many other devices of various types for the progress. The plasmas of those devices have different parameter regimes and characteristics, and thus we have found either common or unique aspects of the MHD phenomena among devices. The achieved knowledges on the measurement and control are vital for the high-performance plasma operations of long pulses, such as JT-60SA, ITER, and DEMO/pilot plants, since MHD phenomena can strictly determine the operational parameter regime of the device. Through the presentations and discussions on experiments, theoretical analyses and simulations, we will further achieve understandings on MHD phenomena with three-dimensional structures that will strongly push forward the fusion reactor development as well as scientific research.

This meeting will be held with ITPA MHD Disruption and Control Topical Group Meeting.
The 1st announcement is here.
