1. Scope
MHD related studies have been performed experimentally, theoretically and numerically. JT-60SA will start the operation phase 2 (OP2) in 2026. Experiments by DIII-D, LHD and other machines have achieved significant progress in physics understanding of MHD phenomena as well as technological developments. Furthermore, devices of various types have been designed recently by private companies in USA, and MHD related issues are studied. Control techniques by magnetic perturbations have also been developed significantly. Through the presentations and discussions on these experiments, theoretical analyses and simulations, we will further advance understandings on MHD measurement, control and modelling that strongly push forward the fusion reactor development as well as scientific research. The workshop also contributes education of students and early carrier scientists.
